Fred
Baker —driven to perfection.
After serving five year apprenticeship in England, and working
as a mechanic, Fred Baker was recruited to come to America. After
layovers in Iceland and New York, he arrived in Cleveland in the
dead of winter, with his new wife, wondering if he’d made
the right choice.
In retrospect, he certainly did.
Fred’s reputation as a mechanic grew, and he became service
manager of the dealership in 1963.
Fred became part owner of Bedford Porsche Audi in 1969, and took
full possession of the dealership in 1993, changing the name to
Fred Baker Porsche Audi.
The dealership moved to its current location in 1999, and completed
a major Porsche showroom expansion in 2002.
Fred’s racing career began in 1972. He has won the SCCA national
championship 4 times. As a result, Fred was named to the Cleveland
Sports Legends Hall of Fame.
Fred Baker’s strong commitment to customers, demonstrated
by the professionalism of the sales staff and service departments,
has earned the dealership a large following of repeat customers.
So much so that Fred Baker Porsche Audi has been Ohio’s Audi
Sales leader for 9 years in a row, and has been named a Porsche
Premier Dealer.
Fred still works 7 days a week, and loves being associated with
what he considers the finest cars in the world.
